Which 1440p Monitor?

Greetings forum peoples.

I have a GTX 780 and have been playing at 1080p for a while. I want to soon purchase a 1440p option for, of course, better detail in games and just something to push my card a bit more.

I've been looking at 2 monitors, first one being the Asus ROG monitor with G-Sync coming in July and it's about $800. Pretty pricey, but for a 144hz refresh, 1ms response, and G-Sync on 1440p along with great build quality, is it worth it over my next option?

Option #2 is the QNIX 1440p monitor which has a 6ms response, 60hz refresh (although overclockable), an IPS panel compared to the TN on the Asus, and it's pretty darn cheap at around $350.

My question is, in other words, will it be worth spending the few extra hundred for features like g sync and 144hz, or will i even notice a 60hz refresh rate on the QNIX? I really like the idea of having an IPS panel as well, so if the differences in refresh rate and response times aren't extremely noticeable, I think I would trade that for better color and viewing angles. I'm not trying to spend a shit ton, but if it makes gaming that much better I'd just save up for the Asus. Any replies/opinions are helpful.

Peace,

gmasstaa

I like my PB278Q

Yeah I've seen that one, sorry if you didn't see the text I added at first I accidentally posted with just a title at first, but I'm trying to decide on these 2 monitors, any opinions?

Yeah, I didn't see the text. You won't achieve 144FPS with a single 780. While the ROG would be preferable for gaming, I'm not sure it is worth the additional $.

Right, altough I've heard that even though you won't reach that max 144hz or whatever it may be, the image still is smoother because it refreshes more quickly or something like that, is that true?

Providing your GPU can provide the FPS. You can only see what the GPU has drawn. The higher refresh rate means there's no FPS cap. 60+ would require a couple of 780s
