I'm a big fan of Ensiferum, In Flames, Battlesoul, Waylander etc type folk metal bands, Where's a good place to start getting into Amon Amarth album wise?
I myself started with listening to twilight of the tunder god(album), Deciver of the Gods i also a good starter :) The older albums are also epic, but something i myself had to get used to.
Twilight of the Thunder God for sure. Siegriecher Marsch, Blood in Fire, and the Pursuit of Vikings are classics they play at most shows and I can actually recommend the live versions.
Pursuit of Vikings. its also very fun to play on guitar. or at least it was. one of the first songs i learned to play along with lol
If you like the more refined, newer kind of metal, start with the new albums and work back. If you don't mind death metal with more of an old school, Entombed kind of influence, the older stuff is great. They've never put out a bad album.
I would say start with the albums Versus the World and With Odin on Our Side
