hi ive just got linux up and working :D yay but how do i install the theme logans using?
Which flavour of Linux are you on? Logan is on Ubuntu 14.10 with Gnome 3.14, I believe.
yeah im using ubuntu gnome im using 3.12.2
You should have it, pretty much. What are you missing?
I found it on noobslab.
Link: http://www.noobslab.com/2012/10/install-flatstudio-gtk-theme-on-ubuntu.html
To install FlatStudio theme on Ubuntu/Linux Mint open Terminal (Press Ctrl+Alt+T) and copy the following commands in the Terminal:
Terminal Commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/themes
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install flatstudio
That's it!
never mind it didnt work for somereason so i opend a new terminal
Noobslab says, "themes are compatible with Gtk 3.6 and Gtk3.4/3.2"
To Check your gtk version. Run the following line in the terminal:
dpkg -s libgtk-3-0|grep '^Version'
I found a reference to it here:
Link: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?action=content&content=154296
when i try to run that it says no command found?
dpkg -s libgtk-3-0|grep '^Version'
This is what I get back is:
Version: 3.10.8~8+qiana
"qiana" because I'm using Mint 17, but it's basically Ubuntu with an extra layer.
Did you cut and paste or type it in?
you cant copy and paste in linux at least i dont think so
Yes you can!
Hold down left mouse button and run it over the text. When highlighted, right click, copy.
In the terminal, right click, paste.
Same as Windows.
Going into a meeting with a client now, back in a couple of hours.
3.12.2-0ubuntu15.2
thats what i got for when you get back
Your gtk is 3.12 and their asking for gtk 3.2 as a minimum for flatstudiodark. However, Ubuntu don't advise going any higher? I'll see what I can find out. In the meantime here's some other links for themes:

Flat studio page says it doesnt work with any Gnome other than 3.4.x or 3.6.x
requires:
- GNOME 3.4.x or GNOME 3.6.x (does not work on other versions of gnome)
- GTK3 theme uses unico-engine
- GTK2 theme uses gtk2-engines-murrine

The question now is; how do you upgrade your gtk to a version compatible with your chosen theme without upsetting Ubuntu? Clearly Logan has done it.
ive got it working ive used this http://askubuntu.com/questions/101651/how-to-install-themes-with-gnome-tweak-tool
This would be a good topic to post up. Perhaps under the heading (Solution. How to implement Logan's Theme).
