I've always understood that you guys get special deals with software/hardware companies where they send you products to review and test for promotion/getting word out.
But do they simply loan you the products and ask for them back in a few weeks time? Or are they usually given to you for good?
In that case do you just have a few drawers stacked up with motherboards, gpu's and cpu's?
I'm sure it's half and half. They are given some hardware to keep from companies and some of it they have to send back after they messed with and reviewed it after a few weeks. Though when I say half and half, it's probably more of them sending back things then being allowed to keep them.
I actually ask the same question to Elric from TechOfTomorrow and he actually replied with this,"A writer at my level keeps all his review samples". He replied with that after someone else responded telling me they have to send them back after their finished reviewing the product. I don't believe Tek syndicate is at that level yet( key word "yet") so Dr.jetix is probably right. I know MSI gived logan a free laptop recently and is helping him get to pax 13. Logan also recently talk about them getting sponsors soon, so campanies will probably be giving them free stuff all the time just so they will review it.
