So I have a product key for windows xp professional,but I don't have a copy of the os.Where can I download a fresh copy of windows xp? I want to help a friend revive his old pc.

I don't think you can legally download a copy of XP like that even if you have a key. I think it's assumed that anyone who has a preinstalled windows OS has a CD that came with their PC at some point.
Maybe your best bet would be to ask around if anyone has a phisical copy of it or phone microsoft and ask them nicely to help you out :P
