When the arpanet was formed, what did the computers send?

Hello again,

What did the SRI and UCLA computers send when they were connected. Ive looked around and it says just a connection was formed. Did anything happen?

And was it wired?

It was a wired connection. The message was login but the connection died half way through so the first message sent was "lo"
