When I move my bluetooth mouse, cpu jumps to over 50%

Ok so this is weird ill try not to ramble. I have 2 issues and likely related

  1. I have a Logitech M720 multi-device Bluetooth mouse connected with a BT adapter from Amazon (the sponsored one with like 2k reviews iirc)
  2. Every few hours my BT mouse (wired mice work fine) will start lagging heavily, at least 1 sec behind and movement isn't smooth.
  3. Only way to fix I have found so far is restart
  4. Regardless of the lag, when I move the mouse I can see CPU usage spike as long as I keep moving the mouse. Task Manager says "System" is the service that is jumping up. When the lag is happening the CPU usage does seem to spike higher like 60-70%

So ya. Ok to answer some questions I know I will get. Yes I have tried it on other devices, my Surface 3 and my Nexus 6. They never get any mouse lag, I have not tried it on my home PC which like my work PC(the one with the issue) does not have built in Bluetooth.

Please tell me somebody knows wtf is going on and how I can fix it. I bought this mouse for this new job so I can use my mouse (Along with a logitech multi device keyboard K780) on my phone and other devices. Aka I want to text without being obvious about it.

EDIT: MAY have fixed it, of course only after asking for help. I swapped to the Logitech universal receiver instead of the BT adapter, and the high cpu usage has gone away. But time will tell for sure. Ill edit again later today or tomorrow then close the post if I found the solution.

EDIT 2: Ok I think it's safer to say the BT adapter was the source of my issue. I haven't seen a blip of lag or high CPU.

what happens when you remove the BT adapter and reinsert it when the system is still on?

sounds like a shit adapter that is using software acceleration,

Well after I hooked the mouse and keyboard up with the Logitech adapter when I plugged in the BT adapter, the mouse and keyboard acted very oddly, I imagine because windows was trying to control them through both. So I removed them from known Bluetooth devices.

Side benefit(assuming the problem is fixed for sure) Is this doesn't mess with the mouse and keyboards ability to connect to my tablet and phone.

I agree, it sounds like a shit BT adapter. I am still using it for now since my headphones are also BT, though they never had issues.
