What's Your Favorite MMORPG Mouse? (2016)

So I'll list a few here and give my opinions. Feel free to post more if I missed any, because I'm only going to post what I've actually had a chance to get my hands on. I know there are several others that I will not list because I can't form an accurate opinion on them. Keep in mind, most of this is subjective. This isn't a review, I'm just curious what other people think about them.

I'll start off with my favorite. It's the Razer Naga Chroma. Not the epic, just the wired version. The shape fits my palm/claw grip very well and the curved finger rest provides good stability, while the rubber on the side provides extra grip. I like that the side buttons are not at an extreme angle like on the G600. The button grid is a standard 4x3 shape, which is absolutely perfect for WoW when paired with the Naga addon. The sensor works well depending on what surface you use it on. I've had trouble with skipping on my SS 4HD, but have no issues with any cloth pad I've tried. I also don't like that they've changed the switches they use for the side buttons. In the 2013 model they were very clicky, but with the Razer Green edition and the Chroma I noticed both of them have slightly muffled side clicks (though not as quiet as the G600 or Corsair Scimitar). Personally, I prefer clicky and I wish they wouldn't have done that, but it didn't take long at all to get used to. Still, this is probably my favorite mouse. The shape is perfect for me, the sensor works well, and it's relatively light. I have a love-hate relationship with Razer. Some of their products I really like, but I hate how much they hype everything up because some of their products that I've bought were pretty much junk straight out of the box (like the last three DA's that I've bought that all had a fucked up right click, or the mouse bungee that broke on me after about four months).

Next is the Roccat Nyth. I was slightly disappointed in this one to be honest. The button combinations, 3D Print compatibility, and swap-able side all seemed like a great idea, but none of them seemed to feel quite right. I will start with the positives. I LOVE the coating/finish, left/right click, and the scroll wheel (definitely my favorite scroll wheel ever), but that's about it. It has a weird sensor issue when lifting and lowering that can be minimized by setting the LOD on the lowest setting, but then it occasionally skips. Swapping out thumb buttons is a pain because when you hit the switch it pops out all the buttons at once. The flat side grip has a sharp bulge near the palm, the finger rest side grip is way too flat, and no matter what grip I'm using there is a corner on the bottom of the mouse that catches on the mouse pad. Maybe I just got a lemon, who knows?

Next is the Logitech G600, featuring the picture from the Tek Syndicate video on YouTube. The sensor is good. I like the shape, but the finger rest is a little too flat. The scroll wheel feels pretty cheap. The G-Shift button is a pretty cool idea, but I found that I'm so used to using a keyboard for modifiers that I never used it. It's pretty heavy and the side rubber isn't very grippy, so I always end up clicking something that I don't mean to when I lift it. I've owned two, and both had a really weak left or right click (kind of like the newer DA's). I don't like how the side buttons are sloped. It almost feels like there are two valleys, and to get my thumb to the other side I have to jump my thumb over a freaking mountain to get to the other valley. I also don't really care for how quiet the side buttons are, but there is a definitive tactile click so that's good. I prefer the Naga's flat-ish design over the G600's dual-bowl layout. This was a couple years ago that I tried them out. I have felt a couple newer ones in store and they didn't feel like they had the clicking issue, but I still prefer the body shape and side buttons of the Naga.

And lastly, the Corsair Scimitar. This will be short. I don't own this one, but I have felt it in-store. I really like the shape, the side grip is awesome, and it feels relatively light. The scroll wheel is solid. I didn't care for the bendy left/right clicks. The textured side buttons feel weird and the overall shape (of the side buttons) is too flat. They're also pretty mushy. It's neat that you can move the thumb grid in order to suit more grip styles, but the main reason I didn't buy it is because no matter where the grid is located, the 1 button is always too close to the mat.

It took me a long time to be a keyboard masher but to add using mice with so many buttons or using modifiers on the keyboard not going to happen. I played a little WOW recently but I don't think I am going to go back to playing it with a full subscription so I don't have to worry about all this. So with that said my favourite MMORPG mouse is none.

Razer Naga Hex, but looking to replace with Tek Sydicate's mouse from Epic Pants

Logitech G600
I like shape an weight. Back when I was in the market for MMO mice, Razer had HUGE issues with Snyapse, Roccat and Corsair were still working on it. I tried some others at friends but still prefer the G600 over them all.

Synapse did its best to turn me off my Naga 2012, but after uninstalling that crap, i've had no issues with the mouse at all. It's worked flawlessly across OSX, Windows & Linux on multiple computers for many years now.

It took some getting used to using all the buttons on the side, but I can't imagine going back to a standard mouse now.

/agree

Played WOW vanilla and BC back then (a lot) and never needed a special mouse for that.

Well honestly I wish I could have used one but I am a bad at gaming. LOL!

Ah I've never actually dealt with Synapse other than changing colors. I just leave the default bindings on the mouse and change the bindings in game.

I have the razor epic naga chroma. So the wireless mmo one. I really like it. Works well and it's comfortable to use.

I enjoy my G600, however its actually my fps and moba mouse. My control scheme is unique in that got MMO's I use hotkeys and my one and only indestructable optical mouse. If I am raiding on LOTRO I am not risking a dead mouse.
