What's all this mean?

My uncle and I are planning an engine swap in my 2007 chevy cobalt because the engine crapped out, he’s quite good with engines, but he’s out of town at the moment and gave me the job of looking for an engine to use, i think I found a good offer… However, I don’t know what the circled part means

Is it good? Is it bad? Is it useless information that i shouldn’t be worrying about? Thanks all!

180-190 = Should equal the horsepower of the engine with no transmission or differential attached (could also mean mileage x1000, or the 56,103 could be it, 180-190 could also be the weight in kg of the engine for transport purposes)

COMP = Should mean that it's complete (with wiring harness and ECU)

(35-75) = Compatible with 10w35 to 10w75 oil as some engines only handle certain viscosities.

56,103 = Could be the Mileage for the engine once it was pulled

A = Could mean Automatic

W137P = Should be the part/SKU/Unit number.

That's what I gather from what you are showing me. By the way I suggest you call and find out. Don't take what I am saying here as fact. These are educated assumptions.

I'm going to call tomorrow and find out for sure, but thanks a ton! Does it matter whether the car this engine was pulled out had a automatic or manual transmission? Because my car is an automatic

It could matter depending on whether or not the automatic versions of the cobalt differs greatly from the manual. In some cases it could matter in that the manual transmission engines of cars stock produce more torque for instance, but I don't think it should matter a whole lot in your case as it's a new(er) car. As for the ECU, you might want to make sure that the one you are getting comes from an Automatic (or just use your existing one as I assume it should work). Just make sure you are making a direct replacement.

That would make sense as they would have to check the compression for resale and 180 would be an ideal number. Plus that's one of the places where they'd attach the gauge when checking the oil, which would also lead to the oil figure thereafter. Everything was merely speculation on my part. Good thing you joined 2 days ago lol.

Best way is to contact the seller to ask what you need to know.
