I have a bad time with HDD, twice after I bought them, and backed up all my data on them. I trip.
does anyone have any suggestions for what m.2 SSD could I use to store my semi-cold storage files? Everything is in a company G drive right now (~3tb of it), but they’re changing policy.
The files are of low importance, like family photos, some of them can be lost or corrupted and no worries, just not all of them.
Write speed can be slow, but read speed should at least match a HDD. But I assume will need to have decent mean writes to failure as I’ll keep it quite full, and everytime it needs to touch up the cell voltage, its gonna eat up some writes.
The most important thing is that its large, cheap and durable.
anyone with any experience? Second hand drives? DRAM less drives I assume?
