Basically as the title says, what's a decent motherboard for the 8350 in the $100 range?
DON'T take asrock 990fx extreme 3. It gets a little warm as its not optimized for 8 cores.
If you don't have problem with the Gigabytes this could work for you :
Isn't that over $100?
If the M5A990FX PRO is too expensive for you, the M5A99X EVO R2.0 will do a decent job.
With my experience with my Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 I wouldn't recommend it for the 8350. I would look up some AM3+ MSI & ASUS Mobos.
maybe rebates too?
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0, or if you have to use a micro ATX and under 100 bucks The M5A78L-M/USB3 by ASUS is also a really good board and supports the 8350 and 32 gigs ram at 1866 as well.http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78LMUSB3/
I have a Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 ( Ultra durable 4 ) everything runs perfectly,northbridge and southbridge temps are ok,no cpu throttling,everything works great.
I have a MSI 990fxa-gd80 v2 and I'd avoid this motherboard for the 8350.
They say the 8350 is more like a 175 watt TDP so they limit the voltage in the BIOS. There are at least three ways to dodge the issue, but it isn't very elegant. Manual compensation for vdroop also is a little awkward. Since I get about .1v vdroop, I have to set the voltage at 1.57v to idle at 1.53v and to load at 1.43v.
well do you have disabled cool n quiet in the bios? because that whats mostly causing voltage drops. also set cpu core voltage from offset to manual mode.
@ OP: i would recommend a Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0
whoa, that's really high, and weird.
