remember a couple generations ago, before nvme.
how all the companies were trying to get your pc
from "off" to "desktop" instantly ?
asrock had "instantboot" but that was like saving the .hyb.sys to ssd and loading that first

No...
To answer with more details, my PC boots from cold dead to functional desktop for 11s. Not even joking, and i have A-Data SP900 from 2 years ago. People with faster SSDs will boot up even faster. So yean, we already have instant boot. It is called SSD.
ive got samsung pro 840s
and intel 520 240gb ssds
my desktop still takes time
Do you have fastboot enabled?
ive picked through my bios and tried to shave off as much boot time as i could
OK, well fast boot only works if you shutdown windows correctly. It saves the kernel session so you don't have to init when booting. It's like hibernation but it closes all the non essential programs.
dont think this mobo supports that feature
Huh, most modern ones do, even really cheap ones. On my MOBO its under windows 8 features.
40 seconds? Wow, that is something...
Give me a moment to clean up my "battle station" and let me show you...

On a cold boot, I can get into the desktop in >10s, even with an HDD. That is on a cold boot though, on reboot, well that's another story. I have the A68HM-E33 V2 from MSI, which supports quick boot (I think that's the name) for Windows 8, but I'm using Windows 10.
hm
seems to be one more reason to upgrage
40 seconds just brings me to desktop.
nothing is really "usable" for a while after that tho.
as all the background junk still is loading up and my cpu will be pegged for a while
Sorry for the video quality. cheap ass smartphone cam...
This video is private.
op there it goes
i like that cpu heatsink
All that matter is the code that boots. The technology does not matter much if the code boots and says kill instant boot.
working, i think it just needed to prosess a second or two
but its working now,
i like tha cpu heatsink,
also the yee ole spair fan pointing under gpu trick. ive been there,
if you lift that fan up a bit it will Greatly increase the airflow
maybe ill go down to the church and have the priest there bless my next batch of water for the radiators...
It's D14. I got the radiator only second hand, no fans, so i used Arctic F12... Also i use the bottom mounted fan to add extra intake for positive pressure.
