I have this PC that I built a few months ago for the soul purpose of being decent then and upgrade to make it better in future. I now have £150 and I need it to run faster so I can play on medium-high settings on most games. This PC is ok but it even lags on FTL so DayZ is unplayable. My PC specs are on my profile and I was wondering what I should do. Please suggest anything from saving money for now or get multiple things now.
A graphics card. Honestly, that's it; everything else is solid. It'll be a cheaper, non-top-of-the-line GPU but, with £150, you can get good bang for your buck.
God...the bad advice in this forum is astounding sometimes, and it's always from members I've never seen before. The CPU is a bottleneck for a more powerful discrete graphics card, and you should really be looking at a lower tiered card to run in dual graphics with an APU anyway.
I really don't know why you would go with an AMD APU system if you were looking to upgrade in the future. The only upgrades I would recommend are these:
1) Get an A10 5800K. It has better processing power and a better GPU which will both help with gaming.
2) Get faster RAM. The GPU integrated into the APU is dependent on your system RAM which means the faster your ram is, the faster your GPU will be. I would recommend a 2400mhz kit.
3) Get a Radeon HD 6670. You can run this card in dual graphics mode with the integrated GPU. This will drastically increase gaming performance, especially if you're running the A10.
4) Get an SSD. This will speed up your entire system.
I would do all of these in the order I posted them.
get a-10 5800k and faster ram,a smart idea is to wait for AMD richland APUS, such as the a-10 6800k that should be pretty good and buy them. They say its gonna be 40% faster than the a-10 5800k
