What was your biggest 'surprise gem'?

By a 'surprise gem' I mean a game that you went in with low expectations but was completely blown away by, or at least pleasantly surprised.

For me, Day of Defeat: Source was a pleasant surprise, came bundled with CSS but man, what a good game, so many hours...

Lol, I'd heard about how good it was, but I didn't really believe anyone until I played it myself. I only got it because it was around probably about $5 on steam during a sale last year.
