So I live in Sweden and I want to keep my internet connection a bit more secure and private.
However I don't know which to use, should I use a Swedish vpn provider with servers in Sweden, or can I use somebody else like privateinternetacces(ads here on tek syndicate) and it would be just as good? I'm sitting on a crappy 8mbit dsl line, would a vpn service affect my speeds?

PIA does have a server in sweden, and a VPN service shouldn't affect speeds in any significant way, but it does (at least in the States), depending on what your doing. When streaming videos via Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, etc, a VPN will actually increase speed because ISP's will slow those connections down. In my case, Netflix is almost always pixilated, and have buffering screens, and YouTube will sometimes struggle with 720p video - with PIA, Netlix is smooth and always HD, and YouTube can usually play 1080p faily smoothly, and no issues whatsoever at 720. I have a 6Mbps connection. However, when gaming, a VPN will decrease performance, since it's connecting to server before connecting to a game server, it raises ping quite a bit. For me, a 30 - 50ms server becomes 100ms server. Most servers I view when connected to a VPN are 300ms or higher, when it would otherwise be significantly less and playable.
For most other activities, the performance hit from connecting to a VPN shouldn't be noticeable either way.
I don't know of any Swedish VPN providers, so I can't help you on that front.

Well I don't think my isp is throtteling me so it's probably going to be the same there. But the ping is worrying. I already have a ping between 20-50ms going up to <100 might be bit to much for me. However, if I play games outside my vpn, that wouldn't bother me that much. I mean that is no sensitive data directly,

alto for som reason when im connected to the vpn and goes to google.com it sometimes sends me to google.no and the same with youtube.com.. dont know if theres on their end or mine.
Okay, but is it preffered for me to use swedish servers in terms of lag and speed? Wouldn't it be more difficult for them to track me if I'm using a server in another country?
Edit: Just subscibed to PIA and it seems to be working (don't know how check really) but damm my speeds now are
22mbit down and 3mbit up, that's insane?! Before I had 8 down and 1 up...
