What to do with old video cards?

  • do the jimmy kimmel scam
  • use revenue to fuel your research
  • profit
  • ???

The deep learning stuff.

I know, I was suggesting a way to fund your learning it.

I see, lol , before I do research I just need to learn basic data science and machine learning.

Either way, GPUs with 12+ gb framebuffers aint cheap

Hang one on the wall and sell the rest for 60 a piece lol.

Put a CPU cooler on it, then sell it.

I would keep it as spare.
Its allways handy to have something like that on hands for troubleshooting.

What I do with dead ones...

I would suggest running ten virtual machines but you don't have enough GPUs to pull it off..

What to do with an old reference Radeon 6990 though? Think it'll be worth something to a museum in 20 years?

That is fucking beautiful mate.

Run them until they die then put them in the oven to see if that actually fixes them. For science.

Or, put them in the oven until they break, then put them back in the oven until they are fixed. Repeat.

Maybe you could make them into a space heater?

This ruins the oven.

id clean them up and sell them since with water blocks they still draw 100usd or more a piece depending on the model and what not. Or you could always be that guy and donate them to a needy friend or someone in the community.

Lawd, I can’t believe I’ve resorted to this, but there’s no chance that after 6 years you still have these sitting in a closet somewhere? I’m in need of two so I can finish my 2010 retro watercooling build.
