What to do with Hardware?

So i'm not sure where to post this so I thought general discussion was the best place.

Anyways, I just recieved a  M5A97 mobo and a FX-4100 from a friend since I helped him out with new parts.
As you may see, these parts are not top of the line parts, and im wondering what to do with it.

1) A router

2) A NAS

3) Suggestions

I am still using DSL at the moment, but in the future our town will get fiber acrossed the main road (im not sure when), and im not sure if we will get it close to me or not.

Please answer, you guys are the best!

That's too much horsepower to waste on a router. I would keep them as backup parts of sell them. You could probably get $100-150 as a combo.

I always upgrade my scrap pc with parts I dont use. my scrap pc is a NAS (well actually its a very advanced configured Arch linux which has damn good nas features). In my point of view, Yeah, uhu, its pretty cool to have a NAS for various reasons. (for example it downloads stuff overnight, or it can WOL any pc in my network -its always on-, and so on, and on, and on....)

If the parts dont fit in it or stuff I keep it as spare parts (Yup, I'm a hoarder). Even so, there isn't a single spare part I havent used to help myself, or friends out. You'd be amazed how cool having spare parts is.

I never sold spare parts, unless it was for permanently helping out friends. (And then I ofc don't rip them off in price)

But thats just me.

Turn it into a piece of artwork. You may get credentials for it.

Why do you have a 3970X?

i'll buy them from you if you dont have any major plans for them

For some ultimate gaming experience!! :D

Nah, just that I wanted to show what it's like to be an Apple foamer. (Sorry if that offended anyone)

when/if you get better internet you could always set up a game server

or a nas/file server if you could use one (i'm under the impression that most people don't really need a nas, or even have much of a use for one)

otherwise i'd just sell it

where u get all $

I have a 1TB laptop harddrive after upgrading my ideapad Z500 to a 120Gig SSD (wich i actually got for free) and I think my family would use the NAS for backuping if i just learn them how (exept my brother, he's allways afraid of new things)
And my dad will most likely not buy anything higher than a 10/10Mbps internet speed, so game server is  questionable. But thanks for the suggestion!

Indeed, waaaay too much for a nas.

Whenever I have them...
