What to do with an old computer

So I have a pair of computers laying around and i have no idea what to do with them.

theres 2  one is an old dell with an intel celeron D and liek 512MB of RAM and the other is an HP with a 2.4GHZ dual core AMD and 2 GB's of RAM. I dont know much more abou thtem as i havent had the chance to open them yet. 

so i was wondering what types of things i can do with these..other than scavange the HP for parts and get rid of the DELL. actually what types of things can you do with old outdated computers in general?

PFSense, take a trip back in time and learn older OSes in and out, but I'm probalby the only person with insane levels of patience for that lol

If i were you. I'll sell those PCs and earn a bit for a new hardware.

I'd take that HP, start with FreeDOS, move to linux. Learn everything.

take the computers, put linux on one, understand how it works. dont worry about fucking up, as you can just reformat with no issue.

take the other and get your feet wet with case modding / hardware modding :)

 

have fun with them. the knowledge you will gain is worth much more then the 50 bucks you might get from selling both of them
