What To Do With A HD 4870x2?

So a friend is selling his old HD 4870x2 and I was wondering is there anything useful for it at this stage of life?

I do not need a new GPU I have a HD 7870 and I am happy with it, just thinking about quirky side projects and the like. I don't have a price on it but I could find out pretty quick if anything interesting crops up. This is solely for potential dicking about purposes, but if it has use as even an under TV box or back up card I might entertain the idea.

May sound strange but I know if he does not sell it, it will probably be destroyed or lost to time in an attic. Rather see it put to some crazy use rather than no use at all.

doge coin mining?

A COASTER! YES THAT'S IT A COASTER

Get an old PC and make a retro gaming rig.

Grab that and a Core 2 Extreme Edition and overclock the shit out of both of them

You mean like a Pentium 4 old, because I have one of those lying around that had not been used in years now. Currently has an ATI x1400 I think in it.

EDIT: looks like it was the ATI X1300 from memory of the cards appearance.

It would make a sweet coaster but it is still working. If it got destroyed I would totally coaster it. I really need a good coaster, damn condensation dripping off the glass all over my desk.

actually the 4870x2 pwns a gtx 750, Id clean and use it. I wish I had that gpu! Its a fucking beast! Fastest card made in 2008!

You idiots on the forum have no idea of legacy hardware. I one of you even told me that a gtx 630 was an upgrade from a gtx 280

This card cant even count for retro if it will play titanfall

If you friend wants to get rid of it, tell Him I will promptly slip him $20 via paypal for the gpu shipped to my door.

one issues....its dx 10 not dx 11 and soon dx 12. plus holy no memory on board.

4870x2?

Obviously a space heater duh

who cares what dx it is? most games support even dx9 still. 1gb or 3gb or ram is not bad for the gpu.

Minus the fact that new games means new API and a lot of AAA games are starting to move into the dx 11 only segment.
