Hi guys! I recently bought another SSD a 240GB Kingston HypersX SAVAGE and was wondering what should I do with my setup? I have got a 120 hyperX 3k with my OS and some games on it and a 1TB WD black for Steam and Origin Games and some other files. What should I do with my 240GB ssd?
Give it to me.
Or put games and applications on it.
May I suggest four copies of GTA V?
lol good one! to be precise, what set up should I do?? ^^
I haven't used either of the two myself but the HyperX Savage should be sufficiently faster for it to be worthwhile moving the operating system over to it. Then run your favorite games off either of them. Check if it has the latest firmware and update if it doesn't, just in case.
The more things you run off SSD's the more you'll start to feel bothered when doing any real work with the old harddrive. :-)
Step 1) Put hard drives in PC
wow talk about trolly responses.
I would suggest that you test both drives for speed, and if they are similar you could raid0 a partition across half the space of the larger and all of the smaller drives, and use that for your data replaceable but best speed wanted files, like game files, then use the space on the single drive for a single partition for things like the windows install, then use the hdd to back up both those partitions and also for mass storage of your less speed critical data.
The way I went was to initially run my bests games off my first SSD. I had a raptor HDD so it was fine for the OS. Then every time I bought another SSD it was usually double the previous size so I shuffled the smaller SSD to boot the OS and used the larger SSD for games.
My last purchase was to buy another 256GB MX100 off Ebay to match my current one and run both those in RAID0 with a ~100GB partition for the OS. I donated the 120 GB I had been booting off to a friend to swap out their crappy laptop HDD drive.
For larger storage I just have few 1 to 2 TB HDDs laying around that get plugged into an external USB 3.0 docking station as required.
More like humorous responses. There was a lack of info in the first post. People can make jokes no need to call someone a troll because of a joke :)
You may want to actually re read my post, as I never called anyone anything.
I actually thought this forum might be different, from what the founders had been saying. Seems I was wrong.
Cool2 this might be where I'm headed. I'll probbably just give my dying laptop the SSD boost.
IKR people making jokes, it's unacceptable gawd.
Anyway, I'd probably just end up moving games onto it and have the other SSD solely for my OS and a few smaller essentials (chrome, winamp, steam etc.). Probably wouldn't have any performance benefits, it'd simply be for the sake of organisation.
You literally said "wow talk about trolly responses" so ya you did call people somthing. Don't be a lier.
Install an alternate OS? That's what I did with my extra SSD.
