hey i have a gigabyte HD 7850 1GB model and im loking into overcloking it i was going in the menu and i saw the option to overclock the CPU and GPU in it and i waunt to OC the GPU now and when i get my CPU cooler i will oc that to but for now how to safely oc a GPU
Overclock the gpu in evga percision X or Msi afterburner
Adjust the core clock by 50 mhz and then the memory clock by 50 mhz
then go into furmark and run a stress test if theres no fragments and its stable then go enother 50mhz until you start seeing fragments and it crashes or becomes unstable.
also if you are using percision X make a custom fan profile so that the fans ramp up faster as the gpu gets hotter
Hope it helped!
ok i OC that card and ran fur marck and it work i whent to 1050MHZ and trie a games crysis 1 whit mod and then my pc crash and my oc is all back to default idk what to do what does that mean
Well try a lower overclock like 1000 mhz or 950 and try playing the game again.
ok the game run fine a 1000mhz but at first they where microstuder durent the game but after a while of playing it stop and is it normal im not seying a performance boost yet also i think i will try crysis 2 instated of crysis 1 becuse i heard crysis 2 is more demanding than crysis 1 so if it run great on crysis 2 than the overclock is stable right
Donwload fur mark and run a burn in test if your happy with the results after just to be %100
