What SSDs to pick

Hya,

So I've been wanting to get an SSD for a while now, but I have no idea what to get. I'll get one for my laptop, and one for the desktop. For the laptop I was thinking 512-ish GB, and 256-ish for the desktop.

I have some models that I like, but I'm not sure what's good for the price. The Samsung 850 pro seems a bit too expensive, knowing I can get the Crucial MX100 for half the price. Is the performance really that different in a real world situation?

Anyway, some help would be nice. Right now I'm only on HDD's, so the better performance will definitely be noticable, so the question is more if the increase in price makes for a noticably better experience.

The price difference doesn't really make too much of a difference. I'd recommend going for the Samsung 840 evo if you want more value because of the higher sequential write speed compared to the Crucial MX100.

Ah thanks. Seems quite good indeed.

Seconded.
