What Side Do You Prefer Your Headset Mic

I realized that mic's can be on 2 different sides and then wondered if left handed people prefer a mic on the right side of their head. So, the question is what side of the head do you prefer you mic to be?

Lefty here... As with almost everything produced, finding a piece of hardware designed for left handed users is almost impossible, and when you find it, it's at an exhorbitant price.

With that in mind, you can understand that I have learned to use everything as a right-handed since I had my first pc. heck. I had no alternative, my dad's pc had a microsoft trackball that was ergonomic. so no chance of using it lefty.

I guess most lefties went through the same situation.

so yeah, left side mic.

Do you think that lefties would benefit from left handed keyboards?

How would that work? Are you talking completely reversed, or just the numpad and arrow keys on the left?

As a lefty, I do actually find myself wishing that the numpad was on the left, but I've had no problems using "normal" keyboards.

I put the mic on what ever side the cable is on (for me thats left)

What if you had a choice though?

You must have a pretty big headset mic, to interfere with your mouse movement.

I prefer the mic on the left side of my head. On the right seems kind of out of place. Somewhat out of balance as well. Kind of like Mic on the left Mouse on the right and Key Board in the center. My current mic is centered though.

but mic position dosen't matter

ah missed that

For a headset, I have the Func HS-260s, so the mic has to be on the opposite side. It doesn't really bother me, since I don't really have to touch it at all.

Right handed. Mic on left side

Well that's one of the few things that have an easy fix: USB keypad

And if you draw on wacom tablets (using the stylus with the left hand) there's nothing I wouldn't recommend more than a gameboard like the G13, which lets you bind all the keyboard shortcuts thought to be used with the left hand on cad and design software.

the only way I think that it could have some benefit if you are already using a left-handed mouse. Most OS have the option to swap for righty-mouse but also most mice are ergonomic and shaped for the right. I had a Microsoft S+ARK mouse that I used with my left, but I missed the "back" and "forward" buttons too much

sorry OP :s

Left side of the head, kinda the default. It's easier to access the mic with the left hand than to disturb your right hand while you're holding the mouse.

Same site as the cable, left. I don't use a headset as my daily driver though, I use headphones and a dynamic USB mic which is hanging from a mount slightly above me.

After using a wireless headset I wound go bat shit crazy with a wired headset now. As to the side of the mic. It doesn't matter when there are no cables.

Neither , I use headphones and a desktop microphone. Most headsets sound like ass and they break way too easily.

I'm a lefty, but I don't have a preference. I put my mod mic on the right side because the headphone cable was already coming out on that side and thought i should keep that together. I dont think it matters because I dont really have to fuss with it too much, I set it down and leave it there, the only time i put it back up is if i take the headphones off.

Dvorak has a left handed version (for if you only have one hand)
