Since the holidays are coming up I thought I'd upgrade my PC but I'm unsure about what needs to be upgraded next. It's used mostly for gaming and for watching movies and any help would be appreciated! The budget I've got to work with is £600 which is roughly $900.
It really depends on what you feel is lacking in your pc. In applications where cpu speed is important, Do feel that your cpu can't keep up with your high needs? Upgrade your cpu. Are you dissatisfied with the look and features of your case? Upgrade your case. Is that cooler making too much noise and you aren't happy with your cpu temp? Upgrade your cooler. Are there just not enough ports, slots, etc. to run your build for however long you would like it to? Upgrade your motherboard. Do you do a lot of multitasking and 8 gb really isn't enough for you? Add more ram. In games, are you finding that your gpu is not performing at the level it used to when playing newer games at higher resolutions and settings? Upgrade your graphics card. Os loading up too slowly? Get an SSD and put your OS on that. Not enough storage for your movies and games? Upgrade your hard drive. Finding the image quality on your monitor not up to your standard? Get a new monitor. Feel like you're always running out of screen space? Get a second monitor. These are just a few upgrades, but it really depends on what you feel is a weak point with your build.
