What options do I have?

Hi all, this is my first post - so please forgive me and let me know if I’m posting in the wrong thread/forum.

I’m keen to know if there’s any hardware (KVM or otherwise) that can be a better fit for the hardware that I already have.

What I already own:

  • Personal Desktop: Ryzen 5800X, Asus 3070 GPU (3x DP, 1x HDMI), MSI B550 board

  • Dell P24 1080p USB C Monitor (4x usb hub. 1 usb c input (DP input + power delivery) and 1 , Acer 24 inch 1080p monitor (only HDMI input)

  • Work Laptop: Typical Dell laptop, USB PD powered

I have two questions that are similarly related:

  1. I typically connect my desktop GPU via separate DP and HDMI to my Dell and Acer monitor respectively. I have a DP out on the Dell monitor, does this typically mean that I can use DP out to HDMI so I can only utilise 1 port on my GPU (also is this recommended?)

  2. Whenever I want to connect my work PC to my monitors, I always use the attached USB C cable which is currently connected to my desktop. So that means I have to manually detach the USBC cable from behind my CPU tower and attach it. Is there any hardware/device that I can utilise to simplify this? It is important to note that the USB C PD cable also acts as my charger for the laptop, so it’s important to still have this feature.

Thanks in advance for all the experts.
