What motherboard should I get for an fx8320?

Kinda lost... This is my first build so I have no hands on experience only reviews which have all been mixed.  Help!!

plan on overclocking at some point?

crossfire/sli?

budget?

990 FX sabretooth Gen 3 R 2.0 I love mine :D

Yes I'm going to overclock

no crossfire

budget is around $130-140 or less

at that price alot of people like this

which is pretty much the same as this

and this looks pretty good

i think i got that backwards, the evo and pro are pretty much the same, but the evo's the one people prefer

You should really try to save up a little more for a better board, trust me it will be worth it in the end. Whatever you do just stay away from the GA-990FXA-UD3 it will not work properly with that CPU. I know it's right in your price range but it's nothing but trouble.

Just make sure to get any 990fx board. This is an open box sabertooth for a really great price! If it doesn't work out you can send it back, you have 30 days.

Yeah heard a lot of really bad stuff for the UD3 (Right before I was about to buy it to =P)

The ASUS mobo's are really great and will serve you well.  Note that the FX 8320 isn't as overclockable as the 8350 and you'll bump into a ceiling pretty quickly...

i would say pickup a decent  motherboard, dont schwimp on a good  motherboard, cause its realy  the basic, a crap board, makes a pc perform bad, or causes you only headaces.

i prefer a decent Asus 990fx motherboard.

The Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 is a great start model i know it has only a 6+2 power phase but those vrms are great.. you can push a FX8350 to 4.7 and Logan did eaven a 5 GHZ oc on that board, without any issues.

The Asus Sabbertooth 990FX r2.0 is ofc a nicer board, it has a 8+2 power phase, and its nice feutured.

OFC the nicest  board to get is the Asus Croshair Formula (asus rog) but its also the most expensive one.

Also a very nice board is the Asrock 990FX Extreme 9 with 12+2 power phase, and gold plated sollid capacitors.

my list of recommendations

1 Asus Rog

2 Asrock Extreme 9

3 Asus Sabbertooth

4 Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0

over a few months i gonne replace my  Asus M5A97 evo with a 990Fx chipset board, and im still a bit doubting between the first 3 of my list, but the  rog is on sale for a nice price in the Netherlands, so i  allmost sure i gonne get the ROG :)

Grtz Angel ☺

IMO do not get a 990fx chipset.  The 990fx chipset is the crossfire/sli chipset.  You said you didn't want to crossfire.  You can get a 16x pcie2.0 slot with the 990X chipset, and stay within your stated budget of 130-140 or less.

Here is a comparison of AMD chipsets that I find useful: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_AMD_chipsets

I love ASUS.  My persistant miner is a hand me down 780G chipset that has run 24/7 for years.  So here is my pick, it's 139.99 + 20 dollar mail in rebate: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX41358

It has a SB950 controller (same one that is in the ROG board!!!).  Translate: 6 sata 6 ports.  No trim support for raid.

It is quite feature rich.  It will not overclock quite as well as a crosshairV, but it's 100 dollars less.

The Asus M5A99X evo  2.0 is also not a bad choice.

I am loving my sabertooth, best thing about my current build

Hey i really like that board i need to upgrade my old and dusty amd xp 3000+ setup and i was looking at that mobo and the fx 8350 has anyone done a review on the sabertooth 990fx gen3 r2.0??????

Thanks..............
