Ubuntu, as it has everything I need and I don't feel that i'm missing out on other features.

Mint isn't on the list ( and no it's not just ubuntu with cinnamon, although not far off in some senses it is not the same )

ubuntu for ease of use and arch for customisation

Ubuntu because I want one platform everywhere. Suse is a close second because I love it's toolset.

Also you forgot Gentoo.

Ubuntu. I uninstalled Mint 18 after a day of installing it. It is nice, but I feel like too much security is being compromised for not a whole lot of convenience.

On a separate note, I wish Unity and Cinnamon had a child.

I use Bedrock Linux so I can install multiple distros to work together as one, with any custom package manager and init system of my choosing.

Linux level insanity is required.

it's called Gnome with the dash to dock extension.

Ubuntu-Mate I like the Ubuntu base but can't be doing with the whole Unity thing (unless it's on a laptop with a low screen rez, Unity is great on screens with limited vertical screen height).

I have used just about every desktop distro some good some bad. Had my fingers burnt more than once with "great little distros" only to watch the small team behind them burnout. Some distros tigh themselves in knots trying to keep up.

So I would recommend one that has the support of either a corporation or a massive community. Fedora, OpenSUSE, Debian, Arch or Ubuntu.

I first started using Linux back in the mid 90's, I'm over the whole messing with my OS. I just want something to work and Ubuntu is that for me. Ubuntu-Mate is just about the perfect fit.

I've tried a large majority of the main distros. Overall, I think I actually like Ubuntu the most. Specifically Ubuntu Gnome.

Currently giving Fedora a shot, but may go back to Ubuntu soon in the future.

Arch with i3 for lightweight installs.
Ubuntu mate for lazy fast installs.
Linux mint 18 cinnamon for my shared desktop.

Not quite what I have in mind.

I use Manjaro xfce4 with compiz and emerald. The only problem I had with Manjaro was screen tearing compiz fixed that.
The reason for Manjaro is.
Pacman commands are short and to the point close to old style Dos commands.
Packet Manager and AUR.
Online help with the difficulty of Arch installing and running, your average Arch user knows alot about there OS and how to fix it.
Manjaro is fast clean xfce4 to me does not try to look and feel like another OS, it is xfce4.
Install with UEFI bios had no problem.
Nvidia driver installed and was working during the install.
It installs Grub, if for some reason I want to go back to windows, I plug in my windows drive and at start up select it and boot into windows, so duel boot is done for me. (I have had no reason to go to windows )
Spatry cup of linux youtube channel has some great vids that helped me deside if I like Manjaro before doing an install.
I have installed Mint and Ubuntu with different desktop enviroments and they lasted a day to a week before I would go back to windows, for a diehard windows fanboy to give up windows and kick it to the curb says a lot about Manjaro.
Rolling release updates.

i'm a bit of a distro hopper. Ubuntu 16.04 is a bit rough for me. it runs okay, but it's not LTS material.
Manjaro is pretty nice, but only the XFCE version is really great for my laptop.
recently i tried Arch via Arch Anywhere, and i quite enjoyed what i got with that installer, and if it wasn't for the fact that i couldn't get a few games working in the limited time i have before a trip, i would still be using it.

Arch is a bit weird for me since my brain is wired to go check for updates, which is not necessarily the best way to use Arch.

I use Linux Mint Cinnamon for my gaming desktop and my laptop. And Ubuntu Unity for my HTPC.

Fedora ! Just because :)

Why is redhat in it? its just semi fedora and if redhat is in it were are the other 700 distro's?

it does what ubuntu trys to do.

Tumbleweed. No other rolling release distro goes through as much testing as Tumbleweed. Open Build Service and OpenQA make all the difference.
