What KVM switch should I get?

Hello all,

I would like to use either two 1080p or 1440p monitors w/ high refresh rates for my personal and work setup along with a KVM swtich, but I’m not sure which monitors and KVM switches are compatible. I haven’t bought anything yet, but am wondering if this would be possible in the first place.

The only thing I’m concerned about as far as compatibility is my work laptop. I have a HP EliteBook 840 G5. It’s got an Intel Core i5-7200U CPU @ 2.5GHz and 8GB of RAM. According to some forums, with the right docking station, I’ll be able to use it with duel 1440p monitors just fine. Since I want 2 high refresh rate monitors for gaming, I’ll need to be using Display Port (DP) instead of HDMI. This is also because the laptop doesn’t have the ports I need for high refresh rate monitors. But I found a docking station that is compatible with my work laptop which has DP ports.
Here is the docking station I’m thinking about getting: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FOAATLQ/?coliid=I3LAY0C07G75S3&colid=23LO82W8ON9EN&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

What KVMs should I look into getting? Will the Level1Tech KVM do the trick?
