Hey guys Karn again, I was just wondering what kind of monitor everyone here uses, I personally use just a 23" Asus monitor that I got on sale, its kinda beaten up now but it does the job. i'm looking for a new one now but I was only planning on just using a 32" TV instead but is this too big for gaming?
I am using a 24" BenQ monitor, it works great for me haven't had any problems with it really. I am not sure about the 32" TV you plan on using depending on what resolutions and refresh rates it has it might work and might not, and it also depend on what games you plan on playing.
I was using 2 AOC 23" LED monitors, because I got them at a stupid deal. However, their imports are lacking, and they were oddly dark for LED. My photography was taking a serious hit. Looked fine on them, but you looked at my photos on anything else, and it was very under-exposed. A buddy just offered me an HP Pavilion 27xi. Fantastic monitor, but now I want a second one.
I got a pixel perfect 27" qnix 1440p monitor from korea for under $400. A lot of 32" TVs only support 720p, so I'd watch out for that. Plus, I was able to OC my qnix to 96Hz; A 60Hz signal is what you'd be restricted to with a TV that's connected via HDMI. 27" is big enough for gaming. I'll probably buy one or two more if I feel it's too small.
Don't use TV as a monitor. Pixel density sucks on TVs so you'll have to move away from the screen not to see how ugly the image is and this negates any benefits from larger screen size.
I have two 1080p 23" monitors, one in landscape and one in portrait
Asus VG248QE I personally wouldn't go any larger then maybe 27ish monitor. But to be honest I would just get something 24" with good picture quality and 1080p for now. The higher refresh is nice but I wouldn't say its worth it.
As was mentioned before pixel density on TVs suck, if you really want a big screen I recomend a 4K Seiki for about 600USD, but beware they can only handle 30FPS, they might release a new monitor sometime soon after HDMI2.0 comes out providing 4k at 60fps. Or you could go down the route of refresh rate, and possibly lightboost if you use nvidia.
