This is a pretty nice and roomy case I used when helping a friend build her micro ATX HTPC.

Not so, but this comes in the mail tomorrow. Lian Li PC-Q10
Gonna be modding it by:
- Removing the 5.25" bay for the slimline DVD for more space.
- Attaching a Handle to the top for easy travel.
- Maybe moving the PSU location.
The PSU location being moved and the removal of the slimline mount is more so for possible water cooling, as I'd really rather not put the radiators outside the case.
We'll see.
I had considered that one. I felt this one was more what I wanted.
That is a Nice Case. I sold the fortress as i am going to the Small ITX case of Silverstone's death, and it is the second one i have built. The fortress is a problem of space an wire management but it looks great as a HTPC sitting on the floor.
I have a thing for the Fractal Arc series. Nice and simple. But if I need smaller, things get complicated and limited, so what I do is I figure out what my needs are for the machine, and then build the case around the components.
Which is how Cardboard 2.0 came to be. It's an ITX-sized case but it houses a full ATX system.
My PFSense box is in a cheapo Ark Technologies case that I bought when I was a wee idiot lad.
I am currently running my PC inside this: https://www.ncases.com/
And I recently bought this: https://www.dan-cases.com/
was rocking this
now I got this
I didnt see the thread about this awesome radio build
But that's a radio...
thats what i said
whistles calmly
I'm going to rebuild it. Need to RMA the PSU and AMD needs to release a new nano card because space is at a premium in that thing.
Xigmatech is weird but it's the kind of weird I love. Their mitx nebula (I think) is still one of my all time favorite prebuilt cases.
I wanted to make a living room pc with that for awhile, such a interesting aesthetic in the first one. the plastic C version is not as cool imo
when I was looking for GTX branded cases all I could find was the bitfenix phenom. It wasn't bad, liked the look and probably will mod it a bit later. However I didnt like that you couldn't see into the case to see the internals. Then I saw the Xigmatek Aquila before LANsyndicate and fell in love
(got the last one too on newegg I think as it went out of stock the next day haha)
Still need to mod it with some RGB to make the internals pop, LEDs would work as pretty much only want the color of the true graphics power house maker to show off the badassness inside, but RGB would be nicer for some custom light shows. Will be doing it at the end of the year sometime. Still in the planing stages.
Long story shot, Xigmatek makes great looking cases and their name is weird and they made a GTX case so I like it
I am currently using the Fractal Design define mini-c (please excuse my cable management):
This is a really nice little case. Building a custom water loop in it could be problematic, but I like it.
I'm using a Corsair 250D right now. Pretty happy with it, the dust filters are nice to have, and the size is just right to put under the desk and push to the back wall. A bit on the large side, with the cube shape, but not bad.
Have the mini c myself, going to be doing a custom loop in it once I get the parts.
As long as you get a small pump/res combo it is doable (but just barely. Think I will have only a couple mm clearance on most spots...)
apevia qpack3.....I'm a sucker for cube cases
have a corsair h80i mounted to the rear fan hole cooling my i5 [email protected] :D
great thread revival. I was looking for this thread.
Now I just have to wait for people dong Ryzen builds.
Black Bitfenix Prodigy (Mini-ITX)
It has excellent airflow and is actually pretty easy to build in as far as ITX goes. Good cable management, but not excellent. The only annoying thing is the slightly wobbly case handles/feet. Also, the plastic tabs through which the feet/handles are screwed to the chassis can break rather easily (did so during moving) and cause slight noise issues due to vibration. I had to swap the bottom and top parts around because of this: it has no real consequence other than making the handles dangerous for carrying the case around, since there is one less screw holding the chassis to it. Bitfenix should probably make top cover and bottom assembly parts without the handles and with more "standard" vertical feet. I'll look into a 3rd party option or making my own if the feet ever break like the handles did.
If I had to re-build, i'd probably go with something like a Corsair Carbide Air 240 and an mATX motherboard instead, as the dimensions would still fit within my requirements.
