What is y'alls take on this?

I read this article/post and felt like I was in the presence of a true Intel Fanboi. He wants AMD to bankrupt and die just so that he does not have to deal with AMD supporters. He also is under the impression that there is not and can not be any alternative to SMT.

My take is that he is sick and tired of obnoxious AMD fans and think the company itself has too many broken promises behind it. I know who the guy is from the demoscene and know that he is very good at understanding hardware and code. Genius level understanding, I'd wager.

They are also a bunch of people who only really have love for old hardware like the Amiga's and C64's and obscure stuff. The demoscene's slogan used to be "Intel outside" before the PC's became powerful enough to do demos that matched those of the Amiga, Atari etc. So new stuff are looked upon with X-ray glasses and flaws will be found and mocked mercilessly.

He is also a developer so I would not assume that he just pulled an opinion out of his ass because he just doesn't like AMD's logo or something. I think he have had his hands in the dough enough to know where the lumps are. If you look at a few more of his blog posts he will just as willingly mention the strength of their GPU's over Nvidias when there is cause to do so. He is not on a crusade, but he really don't like fanboys of either kind and apparently find AMD's to be the most obnoxious.

Also, this is impossible but there it is;

IBM CGA card and 4.77MHz 8088 PC (for the love of all things good turn down your sound before you click on the video)

edit to add: He makes a case in several blog posts that AMD are using unethical/misleading marketing even worse than Nvidia.

Only one thing worse than an AMD fanboy - an RMS/AMD fanboy

What do you have against Stallman?

The guy knows a heck of allot smarter then I am.
Having said that if I am at microcenter and the fx6300 w/MB is 95 bucks and the i3 combo is 199 I am grabing the amd combo.
During the 80's and 90's every phd in computer science predicted the death of x86. first ti RISC then to VLIW, anything but x86.
The smartest people at IBM swore the model 5150 would be the biggest flop in the companies history.
For the consumer it is simple. What will give me the best gameplay for my money. FPS per buck with no headaches.
After all a gaming pc is a toy. I like my toy and enjoy it. I do not need it.
