What is worth upgrading in my rig?

Hi guys!

I have the following build:

Intel Core i5 3570K + Noctua nh-d14
ASUS GTX670-DC2OG
MSI Z77A-GD65
2x Kingston HyperX 3K
WD Caviar Green 2TB
Corsair Vengeance (2x4GB) DDR3 1600
Seasonic M12II-620 620W
Fractal DEFINE R4

For the past 3 years, I have been very happy with it. But I am beginning to feel, that the graphics card is starting to show its age (especially while playing Witcher 3). Therefore I am thinking about upgrading the GPU to ASUS GTX 1070 ROG STRIX.

I use my rig primarily for gaming and my big priority is power + low noise levels. Price and aesthetics are secondary.

In your opinion:
- Will this GPU work well with the rest of the build?
- Is this GPU a good choice?
- Do you see any obvious bottlenecks in the build? (e.g. the CPU - is it worth upgrading for example to 6600k?)

Thank you for your advice!

wait for either Kaby lake and or Zen for the CPU who knows what might happen plus you might get a sale on sky lake now

GPU is good motherboards are pretty good for a long time

No sense doing anything with kaby lake and zen coming out fairly soon.

if you don'd mind feeding the monster that is nvida get the 1070 otherwise id say furyx or rx480 or even a 390x is what i would go with. cpu wise wait for zen and kaby lake then decide.

Yeah, that system is still fine. Just switch the GPU for an RX480 when the custom cards are available. I would look out for the Sapphire Nitro, really like what they do. I'm not a big fan of nvidia but that is mainly about company politics. If you want to go team green, Asus cards are always a safe bet.
You could also get two more dimms of the same memory for pretty cheap.

I think that the better choice is buy a new GPU. CPUs have not progressed toom much in IPC so it's a better call to go for a GPU. Is your CPU overclocked? If not you might struggle to get really high framerates at 1080p but going up with resolution the CPU will be able to keep up better. An even smarter thing is to save up and get a whole new system at once.

Maybe just upgrade the GPU and if you like pop a bit more memory in it and an SSD for your OS.

Your PC should perform very well in games with a small upgrade in a few areas.

i would say GPU upgrade and a bit of extra memory.
GTX1070 will be good.
