What is the pci-e U.2 cable in latest video?

Thanks for the new video about PCI-E accessories! Icy Dock: Helping you PCIe All The Things - YouTube

Does anybody know what cable that is in the part (around 4:45) that’s PCI-e 4.0 and can work with U.2 drives? I have a P5800X and WRX80 (Asus threadripper pro) and got some cable off Amazon that said it would do PCI-e 4.0 but now I’m concerned. I haven’t seen stability problems (have been using the drive for scratch) but the initial fio tests looked oddly a little slow.

So technically in the Asus manual they say these Are 3.0 ports. However some boards like mine will link at 4.0 speeds.

I suspect.on newer.bioses because of support complaints they locked these ports to 3.0 but not sure about it yet

the WRX80E-SAGE-SE-WIFI ? for real?

the manual https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketTRX4/Pro_WS_WRX80E-SAGE_SE_WIFI/E17525_Pro_WS_WRX80E-SAGE_SE_WIFI_UM_WEB.pdf

says the U.2 shares bandwidth with the m.2

argggg it does say pcie 3.0 on page 1-13 NNOOOO :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

ok any good experience with those adapters that are M.2 on one side and connect to whatever the P5800X has ?

like this thing: https://www.amazon.com/DiLinKer-SFF-8639-Cable-PCIe-Adapter-U-2-Converter/dp/B07VB6L8SJ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=m.2+to+u.2&qid=1638856268&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=AE0SVKWTGDVJF&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFVTElKWEdDRVBLVlcmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAyNDA2MTIyWko0REFISFVNTzJXJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA4NzM4ODYxRDRWQVFaMUhVOEdDJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

or something like this thing (doh its pci-e 3.0): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D8F9JAK/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?pd_rd_i=B01LYUF8L8&pd_rd_w=FGv8o&pf_rd_p=887084a2-5c34-4113-a4f8-b7947847c308&pd_rd_wg=SUfC4&pf_rd_r=5DR7MFTX2DJQ4P12KC52&pd_rd_r=d6705cf6-9959-4eae-94cd-c8de24b4afa6&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFNNkZHSlZWNlNCRUEmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAwNDAwODlWMUVOVTVQSVFGOUkmZW5jcnlwdGVkQWRJZD1BMDA3OTI0NjJMMFpVVUZZSEI3REomd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWwmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&th=1

I do not have room for one of the PCI-E icydock card slock adapter thingies in the video :frowning:
