A buddy at work was going to get a pc but like me he is having some financial hardship. The only game i know he wants to play is diablo 3. His current pc wont run it all its an hp slim.
Should do the trick, and he can also play MUCH more than D3 on this should he ever decide to: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/C2YO
Feel free to change the case out to something with USB3 to make use of the USB3 Header on the Mobo.
includes everything.
does that mean os keyboard screen and mouse?
If an OS is needed, just grab a highly rated torrent of Win7 and look around online for a key.
Keyboard and mouse are not really that expensive.
Yeah the whole enchilada.
is that legal?
Does it sound legal? lol No, no it is not.
well i just bought/built my own computer for almost no money. first thing i did was buy a basic pc for around 230 in parts excluding a GPU. it was a apu so the graphics were usable untill i saved enough for a better graphics card i would recomend a old 6870 because they are dirt cheap for how they perform, then you already have a very capable gaming system. i can also stronrly recommend the LG IPS monitors because they are only about 150 bucks and are 1080p and its an IPS panel so the colors are great !
so this is what i did and i would recomend for you:
start with an apu based system i got an A6 3500 3 core, but i recommend the 4 core version of that cpu as it has better graphics.
you can save up from the start to directly get the GPU together with you pc but what i did was first get my pc without a graphics card using the apu graphics (wich arent bad at all) while you save up for a good GPU
Then get one the LG IPS panels they are amazing value for money! because you can get them starting from 130 euros so even less dollars and the collors are really really good for the price.
i hope this helps you out with your build. i have my specs on my page if you wanne know the details on what parts i got
cheers your favorite toast :D
(Edit: and if he is only looking into playing games like D3 and stuff a 99 dollar GPU like a GTX650 or a Radeon 7770 should do the job just fine!)
You are running an a6 3500 with a 7770? Isnt that past the point where the apu will still crossfire? I thought i read that the apu's are much less effective after you get past the reccommended discrete gpu.
no point of getting an APU if youre going to not use it for graphics. Tell your friend to wait if he cant afford to build a computer. that way he wont be buying parts twice.
You can only crossfire a 6670 I think. You can just disable the integrated graphics.
I never said i was going to advise that he gets an apu. I'm honestly looking for suggestions though on any system config. I wouldnt buy an apu for myself unless i was very low on cash so i wouldnt recommend it for him either. I mean i told me he only wants one that will play diablo 3 but i still wouldnt want him to be stuck with a socket that only accepts apu's and only supports low end gpu's.
well you say your mate is strap for cash so.. what's his budget?
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/COWf --- APU.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/COYL --- CPU + GPU.
I didn't include a monitor cause I forgot and don't feel like changing it.

this part list i have assembeld is according to the reccomended specs of diablo 3 not minimum. its everything other than the os.
this iv only gone overboard with the ram as D3 only needs 2 gigs and i went for 8.
you could still shave a few quid off here and there, by downgrading the motherboard which would save the most by say £50-£40 but i picked this one so your mate could upgrade his cpu to the max in the future.
or the ram, or the hardrive which you could could save £20-£30 at the most but stingein on ram is'nt reccomended the hdd on the other hand not as important. everything else is the reccomended specs and at the lowest res the game will support which is,,, https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-system-requirements
you could go the apu route, but upgradding in the future will be limited and your not gonna save much more in the here now if at all. so yeah.
Did you know you can just swap the uk for us to change it back? I didnt until i just tried it pretty sweet if you ask me. Seems pretty good though.
lol that is a point you uk or us?
us. I suppose i should have mention it in the first post. I was going to slowly add every piece to another list if i had to but all i did was swap the k to an s and it changed everything automatically even the prices and shops.
cool beans, well hope it helped :)
