Hey, am gonna replace the strings on my Epiphone Les Paul Special II. But what would be the best gauge strings to use on it? The strings haven't been changed on it since I bought it off my friend :P
dude, it a lot of preference. someone cant really tell you which is best.
just dont be a noob by going out and getting heavy ass strings.
.010-.052 elixir nanowebs are what i use for metal. you probably wont need anything heavier than that unless u want to tune it like a baritone.

10 gauge ernie balls will work perfectly fine.
if ur playing in standard tuning then you shouldnt need heavier than say 10-46 or 48. Which i think is right around where the ernie ball regular slinkies are.
