There isn't one. Bitcoin needs more than that to even become remotely worth while.
What would i need to extend my budget to in order to make it worthwile?
thanks by the way for the reply :)
To be perfectly honest I wouldn't bother with bitcoin unless you have at least two HD 5870s.
That should give you about 700Mhash/second. Even with two 5870s, you may find that you're mining so slowly that it's not worth it.
660?
lol Nvidia and bitcoin
bitcoin isn't worth it unless you already have a 5xxx and 6xxx GPU and free electricity
don't buy anything you can't mine with your current setup, that is how I made $500 and a 5850
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison
I mined for a month on a 240GT and a 4870 and got a 5850, the mined with all that for 2 weeks and got another one, this was over a year ago, unless you have some kind of FPGA already then you're going to be stuck mining for a while
I was going to sell my 5770, but it looks like it has a new purpose.
I have a core2duo e660 and 4gb of g.skill lying around, now I just need a cheapish power supply and a small form factor motherboard and I can start mining with out interupting my gaming rig. Slow but any extra income is welcome.
do you pay for electicity, because you'll only make about a dollar a day
i do not so electricity use is not a problem, i just want to try out bitcoin
would two 5770's work, i just found one on newegg for $99? electricity use is not a problem i don't pay for it
nevermind that, i didn't notice it doesn't suppurt crossfirex
okay since you're getting it for gaming I'll recommend one that's also good for bitcoin, do you live in the US?
go on Ebay and get 2 5870s they sell for about a 100 a pop, a 5850 is a close second, the 6xxxx equivelents are slower at bitcoin and nvidia,7xxx, and 4xxx cards are terible at it
Thaks for the suggestion, would i be able to do a hybrid crossfire conigureation with two radeon 5870 and a HD 4250?
nope but you can have the 2 5870s mining full blast when you aren't gaming and use the 4250 for web browsing, genereal use, old games/emulators, HD movies, the 4250 does not support open CL so you can't use it for mining
