Me and a friend are planning on starting a youtube channel.
it's gonna be about games, maybe some tech, a lot of rants, a lot of cursing and probably how bad mainstreamity (or whatever I should call it) is.
now I wanted to know your opinion (as many opinions as possible) about what you guys wanna see (and more importantly, what you don't want to see), what interests you. ANY input is appreciated.
the subjects I just said can be changed, this is just what we have for now.
It would be awesome if you guys (and girls) on the forum could help us with what we're trying to do.
What do you mean by mainstreamity? Are you talking about mainstreamity in gaming like casual gaming and consolitis? Or are you talking more in general like counter culture?
what I mean by mainstreamity is, music, media, justin bieber, shit with sprinkles...I mean nicky minaj...swag, snapbacks, skinny jeans...just random rants and insults and whatnot. we're not quite sure about everything yet, but we need some ideas, so I hoped you guys could help us get inspired.
I would say digital emphasis on the mainstream artists and auto correction.
I have voice cancellation built in my laptop and any mainstream stuff when the voice is taken away theres almost no difference suggesting almost pure digital input whereas 95% of rock and metal is all their own talent and is something I cannot get over that real talent is wasted because of record companies getting anyone who can dance or girls will scream at and not use their own voice.
On the record I have AX720 headphones so theres no lack in clarity.
If you need any help with ideas for rants or to guest-cam in a couple of videos etc in the future I'd be happy to help.
Ha thanks. don't worry about that, we will. we know HOW we're gonna execute it, we're just not fully clear on what we're gonna talk about "the most". that's why I'd like to know what you guys would like to see.
Its very difficult to make a rant interesting. When criticiseing stuff you want your critisim to be rational, on point and interesting. A rant is controlled more by emotion than reason and as such they have a tendancy to go off topic quickly. Rants also have a tendancy to preach to the chior which is boring.
You will notice that logans rant30 really arent rants its more of a specific critisim of a specific topic. They are generaly based on some buisness or persons irrational actions logan then critisies their actions with his reasoning based on rational logic and stays on topic. Then to finish off he will explain what they should be doing and how it would be more benificial to every one involved. The only thing rant30 has in common with an actual rant is that it is said with passion and has some of logans opinion in there too.
To sum up to do an interesting rant you need to
Pick a specific topic to critique
Make your argument based on objective reason and fact ( unlike rants that tend to be subjective )
Stay on topic (unlike rants that tend to be all over the place)
Start off with an overview of sorts of the topic
Break it into specific parts talk about them and what you dont like.
Round it all up
Follow on to talk about how it can be improved ( rants tend to miss this. By doing this you will avoid preaching to the chior by encouraging action and hopefull giving a sence of optimisim. This is very hard to do it is something that I think even logan does poorly. )
Be passionate ( The more passionate you are the more it will engage viewers )
Dont get emotional ( If you are emotional then your probably arent reasonable )
Give your opinion. ( Opinions are generaly subjective rather than objective it is important that you yourself know this and do misrepresent your subjective opinion as an objective fact.)
I forgot to say its important to explain what you would do to improve the topic and how that would improve the topic. Im not saying you need all the answers but you need to give something. If you break something a part without any thought as to how your would build it back again with improvements then its just anarchy and anarchy is imature and boring.
The point I was trying to come across is that people do not realise most of the mainstream is majority synthesised and may surpise how little of the singing is genuinely from the singer, and why more people become disappointed with singers live and miming etc.
This can definately become an issue where the act includes a very big dance routine that would restrict the vocal power of the singer and rely on sythesis. For live TV performances especially there is a lot of pre-record and muting in case the singer messes up.
Don't get me wrong I do like songs on mainstream too but some talent with very powerful voices with no need for synthesis may be shunned for having a different image or not willing to have their songs digitally changed etc.
well our rants are actually more supposed to be funny than informative. we want it to be a bit zero punctuation style. our rants are just for the sake of fun. I actually shouldn't really call it a rant.

what I mean is the viral stuff that is just plain idiotic, things such as swag, justin bieber (and again, I'm talking about "him", not his music). swag is the most fucked up thing in the world, dumbass idiots walking in skinny jeans, wearing 5 (litterally) snapbacks, a t-shirt that says "YMCMB" and a pair of giant purple boots, they call supra's. I'm talking about the idiots that say that school doesn't matter because they got swagg, the people that say that they fuck without a condom, because swag. that's what I mean with mainstreamity, I should've called it something else...maybe douchebaggery...
oh and to talk about Bieber, what I mean is the influence he has on girls; he literally fucks them up. seriously, go on facebook and search for a group called "naughty beliebers". (again, I'm not saying it's his fault, I'm just saying that people act like idiots BECAUSE of him)

Personally, what I'd like to see from a vlog/gaming/rant/debatey news channel like razethew0rld, is (seeing as it's you and a friend) the sort of banter you get between two friends. Logan does it sometimes. Sort of in jokes that are accessible to the viewership. That way the audience feels included and it's really awesome, especially with good characters like Logan. If you get it right, you'll be golden. Just watch out for people who might think you're ripping razethew0rld off. You wont be, but just remember to ignore them :P

There's someone in specific on YouTube that make rants, and they're actually pretty hilarious. He mostly rants on what is considered 'Mainstream Music' and its absurdity. His name is Buckley, and his YouTube channel name is "ADoseofBuckley". The reason I mentioned Buckley is because he rants very well (I didn't know you could rant 'well'), he puts out good content on a regular basis, and I just thought you might be able to get some ideas from him.
