I figured I'd start keeping a blog about what I'm playing. I don't always play the newest or the most popular games. I just play whatever I feel like playing.
Today I grabbed Unepic on Gog.com. It's a silly action/RPG/platformer. The story starts you at a table, playing D&D with your friends. You appear to be "the dumbass" of the group. After a little dialogue, you go to the bathroom. While there you are somehow transported to a dungeon. This is where the game begins.
Check out the video above to see what the gameplay is like. The humor is either going to bother you or make you smile. It's so silly that I cracked a smile. It does rely heavily on nerd culture references (D&D jokes, WoW jokes, and Metal Gear jokes all in the first few minutes).
It's a platformer in style but an RPG at heart. You can wield swords, bows, wants, etc. and you rely on potions and magic to stay alive. After gaining enough experience you level up and get a few points to distribute to your various abilities.
I'm having quite a bit of fun with it. I'd say that it's already worth the $5 I paid for it. Check it out here. Let me know what you think.
