What happens when a power loss occurs on an open channel SSD?

Hello,

It’s all in the title
I would appreciate your help as I couldn’t find anything on the web yet !

… you get an unclean/partial write? Possibly causing a corrupt OS and an unrecoverable system?

Realistically, the write is junk, and the system just ignores it.

A bunch of power cuts strike all over the place, and systems almost always keep going.

Real problem is if you are contributing to a system that requires uptime like a company database

Okay, was just spitballing, but I don’t think we as normal need to worry about sudden power loss.

Businesses have UPS systems to keep machines running for a short time.

You can get a UPS if you wish for peace of mind, and they are not too expensive.

I personally am not worried that much about the loss of data across my systems, and have not chosen to use a UPS.
