What Graphics Card?

Im Building a new rig and im wandering which graphics card 

ASUS Radeon HD7970 DirectCU II TOP 3GB

or

ASUS GeForce GTX 680 DirectCU II TOP Edition

or

ASUS Radeon HD7970 Matrix Platinum 3GB

I play game like crysis, battlefield 3, planetside 2 and farcry 3.

if you can afford the Matrix 7970 get that. i have one and it's awesome.

depends on how hardcore of a gamer/overclocker you are

The cards you're looking at are overclocker cards, so it depends on if you're going to overclock a lot or not. I'd throw that DCII TOP 680 out instantly in favor of an MSI 680 Lightning for overclocking, the Matrix 7970 and DCII TOP 7970 aren't really comparable, the Matrix performs a lot better.

If you are going to overclock get the Matrix, or as Thompaam said an MSI 680 Lightning edition.

If you're asking us for advice then the matrix is out of your league. Buy a 680 if you got deep pockets, 7970 if you don't.

I wouldn't say it was out of his league. That is a bit subjective don't you think?
