What graphics card would give me the most performance?

Hello

My computer currently runs on one of the AMD APUs (A10-5800K). I originally built this computer on a low budget since I am a student. I have 150 dollars that I am looking to put into this computer to improve my gaming performance. I was looking to possibly get a graphics card to run crossfire with the one built into the APU (HD 7670 perhaps). I was also thinking about just buying a new standalone graphics card entirely and using that instead of the graphics in the APU. I was wondering which would give me better performance overall. The rest of my computers specs are below if it helps. Thanks for the help!

Processor: AMD A10-5800K

Motherboard: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35

RAM: GSKILL RipjawsX 8GB

Power Supply: Corsair CX430M

Hard Drive: WD 1TB Caviar Blue

+1 that will do fine

Not sure what you have that sucker clocked to, but the similar 760K I had with 270 MSi gaming, held back the GPU even at 4.2ghz. I would get 100% cpu usage and GPU usage was never going over 70-85, sometimes less. Some games like Sniper Elite V2 it would run at 95...but other stuff like Saints Row 4, Sleeping Dogs, it would run at less than it's potential.

When the board and cpu were swapped out for a 6300, the same titles were running at about 85% ish cpu core speed but 100% gpu usage.....in GPU-Z.

the 260X is a better match...unless you upgraded your cpu/board.

If you can find a R9 270 for $150 go for it. On the other hand if you can't look at the R7 260X or GTX750ti. Either one of these cards will sooth your gaming needs for $150. Don't bother with the Dual Graphics on the APU. Its not worth the money and does not yield much performance.

Maybe down the road AMDs new APUs and video cards will get better in the Dual Graphics area.
