Regarding the space station (as mentioned in L1News) Am I the only one who is surprised there wasn’t a deconstruction plan put in place before the station was built? Like “last one to leave, switch out the lights, oh and uncouple the nodes for easier breakup?”
Also, does anyone know of a planned procedure for the ISS when it is EOL, or are they hoping it will last Forever

This is one of the major problems with space.
We have so much junk floating in space that it’s going to start getting more difficult to leave the atmosphere in a few years.
I didn’t watch the news yet, so I’m not really sure what you’re talking about regarding the L1N article, but if they didn’t have a deconstruction plan, they obviously didn’t plan on humanity surviving to see that station obsolete.
