What game are you currently playing thread?

Jealous of the XP machine, enjoy it

Grabbed it last week when it and the DLC were on sale. Controls take a little bit to get used to, but it’s absolutely hilarious; every line about the sea life from Chris Parnell is a fact with a comical one liner at the end.

Sooooo, this is getting another ā€œremasterā€. I almost bought the Anniversary Edition, but if they’re doing it again… I just added the new one to my wishlist and will keep an eye on both. If the new one gets good reviews I’ll probably buy that one, otherwise I hope they keep the Anniversary available.

Right now I’m hooked on Elden Ring again. The open world and boss fights keep pulling me back. What about you?

I have been cycling through these recently.

With a MOZA R3 and pedals. Not really into racing but crawling around in a 6x6 delivering fuel off road is entertaining.

The people that got me to play the game refunded it.

To keep my reaction times sharp for gaming in general since I play a lot of slower games now a days.

Recently worked my way through Skyrim AE, AC Odyssey, and Turok (man I miss my N64)

And started a new rotation of AC Shadows, Oblivion Remastered, Palworld, and Doom Eternal

Had a coworker recommend Kingdom Come: Deliverence II, but instead I think I could probably benefit from a trip outdoors for the first time this month

Back in 2017 a friend complained about how hard Turok was so I streamed it with me only using the knife and clearing about half of the game with gravity being the only thing capable of bringing me down. Turok wasn’t hard, playing it with the N64 controller was. Turok on Steam is great. A little to easy with Mouse and Keyboard though.

Still playing Deep Rock Galactic, though not as often anymore - but it still is in the rotation (currently working on getting all 4 classes up to the highest level, and the last few weapon mastery)

I’ve also recently added RoadCraft to my playlist and I’m having fun with it

To set the expectations on RoadCraft correctly, it is not a Snowrunner/Mudrunner sequel/prequel/etc. but it does have some overlap. The main differences are:

  • There is no damage model on your vehicles
  • Fuel is not required (only used for recovery to a mobile service-vehicle, or starting certain extra bits and bobs on the map)
  • There is no vehicle customization in terms of engine, tires, etc. but (you can change the colors but they apply to all your vehicles
  • There are -working- tracked vehicles
  • Winches are reserved for tow-trucks and scouts

And the main point:

  • You can use bulldozers to push debris out of the way, and dump sand to fill gaps, etc. - it is kind of the whole point of the game

So yes, I have just ā€˜lazily’ filled in a small creek with sand so I didn’t have to drive around it

DRG core loop gameplay is something unique and special, even doable with a young scout sidekick that tags along just ok. I’m glad my kid didn’t pick Driller and Gunner

Played through the first and second right when it was remastered for PC. The convoluted level design was tripping me up in the Turok games, but that was the norm for the decade and a lot of N64 Action games (I am looking at you Shadow Man). I am looking forward for the 3rd one I newer experienced. (The first 2 were released in the 90s as 3Dfx titles on the PC as well but I only had the stupid German versions which were censored and that took away the appeal and I newer finished those). Thankfully the remastered versions exist.

I have been playing Turtle Wow which is based on the 2004 build of the game updated with some new content.

I finally finished Hogwarts Legacy. It was … eh … really disappointing. I struggled to finish it. I’ll be honest, I forced myself to finish it so I could rip on it with this game review, and also because I’ve finished every game I’ve bought for my PS5 and wasn’t going to let this one break the streak.

Always Ark: Survival Ascended.
Although, we’ll see how the upgrade for UE5.5 goes tomorrow (for me, should be late today in US), if I lose my 2718 hours of progress because the new version is not as compatible as they think, I may be looking for something new…

Haven’t played this since it came out on PS3 so many years ago. It did introduce me to one band that I had missed in my teenage years, Riot. Everything else I had known of previously. Awesome soundtrack, pretty fun game even at its age. :metal:

I am playing Doom Dark Ages, but barely.

I just finished the Rogue Trader and that game had me thinking more of the builds and player choices that I could have done better. Playing hard dogmatic got a good ending but the journey was rough. Also I did not get the ending I wanted for my character companions.

I’ve been playing around with Game Dev in general, learning the basics of Godot and such.

I knew that if I were to make some good content, I would need to experience indie games which I don’t do enough of, so I started going through my gigantic backlog and decided to land on Hyper Light Drifter.

I’m surprised at how interesting and engaging that game is, and it holds up for being a 2016 release too. I have my complaints but I’ll reserve them until I finish the game.
