What foods have you discovered this year?

I decided to take two risks this year and try some fancy foreign cuisine.  I am now hooked on Turkish Kebabs and Sushi.  Good stuff.

I feel like I've wasted so much time not discovering these things sooner.  Hopefully these things are healthy LOL.

Anyone else made some discovery's in the food area of life?

This year I began using quorn instead of meat for most parts. It tastes like chicken and fells healthy.

I particularly like the pizza with bits of quorn, bananas, peanuts and curry (lots of cheese and some tomatosauce too obviusly).

I discovered how to make tzatziki. Love the stuff thick with grated and drained cucumber and garlic.

You like a thick, white sauce?

(Sorry, it was wide open for that)

I like it thick and creamy. Don't you old bean? Gahw, what is wrong with some people. I like to slurp that creamy stuff and lick my lips in pure satisfaction. Damn it, I need a bib over my brony onesie.

You can take sausage and cut it into slices, put it on a plate, add slices of cheese, put it in the microwave for 3 minutes, then add cottage cheese or garlic sauce and lettuce. You can also take a long pepper and use it as a water bottle...

Dried peppers are available in most grocery stores now-a-days. Making your own toasted chili powder is a real game-changer, I found out this year. I also like to reconstitute the chilies and blend them as a base for Mexican dishes and chili. It's cheaper than buying powdered spices and fresh peppers. Give them a try. Here are a couple available in most mega-marts:

Chipotle

Ancho

Anaheim

Cascabel

Chile de Arbol

Here's a recipe for Chili Powder I use:

Try it!

I discovered how to cultivate wild yeast to make sourdough bread.

I cultivated yeast using water and flour. It could be argued that two ingredients are used to make sourdough bread: Flour and water.

Made a hot and sweet coconut curry (using chicken) in January.

Also perfected my deviled egg recipe and became addicted to smoked, pickled garlic because of it. That shit is just amazing.

smoked garlic is amazing.

Sun dried fish bone fillet that's a bit sweet and salty. it was weird but tastes real good

I discovered that I am not allergic to peanuts. A whole new world opened before my ... mouth.
