What do you think of FenOS? Golden eggs or fish?

http://www.myfenos.com/

Game changer, or do you smell fish?

it claims to run applications for most oses.

Hmmm well in tech news people are trying to do this with varying degrees of success. It seems strange for this to just appear with no prior notice, that I have heard, and be as good as they say. Not impossible but unlikely. Even more unlikely again when they claim the levels of compatibility that they have.

And then the bitter sting. It is not available yet, it is a pre order and it costs €50. I want a very real demo first. Sounds like a  cash grab.

I would be very happy to be wrong and should it do what it says €50 is an amazing price. I just think it is not a good idea to pay up with out evidence and I would be surprised if this catch many tech conscious people out.

EDIT: Not only does it calim software compatibility but also hardware compatibility with x86, x86-64, PowerPC and ARM. Waaaaaayyyyyy to good to be true. And a look up of Ricardo Edhel Lara Romero brings up little. I may be wrong and out of the loop and if so I am happy but hmmm this does not sit well with me.

EDIT #2: 9th September 2014 is the stated release date. So we will see.

Side note: Their head office cant be found on Google maps. and there is no street view in what could be the street. Could be a coincidence, Google maps has been wrong before, but it just adds to the doubt for me.

Seems like snake oil. Also the project doesn't look like it is open source.

Lack of an ability to audit the code makes me not like it at all.  If they did make the holy grail of operating systems and no one bought them out sounds fishy. Pretty sure Microsoft, Google, Apple or Red Hat, Oracle would love to have that tech.

Probably just a linux distro with custom WINE configs.

No idea how well it will do with Mac, but I do know there was development to get Mac apps to work with other distros. So it isnt too far fetched.

But the fact that they want you to pay for it disgusts me.
