the only difference between the ftw n normal is better overclocking features in bios. you can try the Asus P5N-D, but the sata ports positions are ridiculous cant realy run long dual slot cards in sli. Or you can step up n go for the evga 780i
note that if you get the asus i wouldn't plan on sling at all
the space between the pci E slots is really small. I mean if you have to 8800gt's or something that has a one slot cooler your good but if you have like a monster fuck it.
mm well i don't know what to tell you.. the only problem i have ever had with this motherboard is the onboard audio.. which was simple to fix, it actually was a Microsoft driver problem. but yea I mean there is always some scare when building a system, especially with the motherboard.
quick question do i have to reinstall the os if i get a new mobo or cpu or both? or is that only hard drive related this is kinda my first system build my current system well i did it with my uncle and i just dont know wtf i have to do in bios it looks scary and blue do i have to do anything in bios after i put in everything i turn on the computer it posts beeps and then bios comes up what the heck do i do from there
You probably should format and reinstall everything. Possible errors might/will come up if you just run a straight boot off of the hard drive after installing new hardware.
For the record, the 750i has horrible video corruption issues with the 9 series cards. Not sure if they fixed it yet. I had like a 5 paragraph rant about it in another topic. Forgot which though.
