any suggestions on asus motherboard or evga (my 2 fav brands)

that supports sli im only going to run one card but sli support would be nice if i have some cash laying around and want to spend it

ddr2 support not ddr3 to early for me

yah tnx

the only difference between the ftw n normal is better overclocking features in bios. you can try the Asus P5N-D, but the sata ports positions are ridiculous cant realy run long dual slot cards in sli. Or you can step up n go for the evga 780i

I have the asus version of the 750i and it is a decent motherboard, it overclocked well.

oh nice im getting the asus one =)

ya just be careful of the sata ports. You can use the flat headed sata wires to work with lng cards

note that if you get the asus i wouldn't plan on sling at all

the space between the pci E slots is really small. I mean if you have to 8800gt's or something that has a one slot cooler your good but if you have like a monster fuck it.

im getting a 9800 gt its a single slot cooling solution only useing one hdd

i was reading the reviews on new egg and i always read from worst to best and some of the reviews really scare me

well any product has its bugs... i have been fine and i have had it for 4 months now.

cuz im a noob and i jsut want a board i can through in my case and boom done i dont want to go through a bunch of shit just to get it to work

mm well i don't know what to tell you.. the only problem i have ever had with this motherboard is the onboard audio.. which was simple to fix, it actually was a Microsoft driver problem. but yea I mean there is always some scare when building a system, especially with the motherboard.

quick question do i have to reinstall the os if i get a new mobo or cpu or both? or is that only hard drive related this is kinda my first system build my current system well i did it with my uncle and i just dont know wtf i have to do in bios it looks scary and blue do i have to do anything in bios after i put in everything i turn on the computer it posts beeps and then bios comes up what the heck do i do from there

good question i have never replaced a motherboard so i am not sure.. but i would think that would be a hard drive issue.

You probably should format and reinstall everything. Possible errors might/will come up if you just run a straight boot off of the hard drive after installing new hardware.

For the record, the 750i has horrible video corruption issues with the 9 series cards. Not sure if they fixed it yet. I had like a 5 paragraph rant about it in another topic. Forgot which though.

WOW i've NEVER EVER seen the regular evga 750i... i don't ever type "ftw" behind 750i either and it never showed up EVER

either way, i'm sticking with my awesomely bright gigabyte mobo

It came out 2 weeks ago John. Lol. Where have you been =P?

if your only gonna use 1 GPU then dun bother getting that, just get one with one PCI-e slot

maybe something like this

Or this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128359

I like Gigabyte boards. They're pretty reliable. Color scheme could be nicer though. Maybe like, black and red...or black and blue...

oh what the fuck, the regular 750i JUST came out? lol fail.

i'm getting the $15 more expensive version of that.. gonna definitely enjoy it :3

Lucky bastard John. Bench it, and tell me how it is once you get it.
