Ok, so im getting the parts for my new workstation/gamin rig tomorrow.
Parts are:
Cooler Master G750M Fractal Design Define S Black Seagate Barracuda® 1TB (also using my trusty intel 150gb SSD) Sapphire Radeon NITRO R9 380 4GB Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 ASUS P9D WS Kingston DDR3 1333MHz 16GB ECC Wasabi Mango QHD277
I want to run some VMs, some games and IT stuff in general.
I've been running Debian and Ubuntu gnome on all my previous machines, but the Solus Project has caught my eye. Is the developer support strong enough. I really want to run Budgie, but i've heard you can get it on Arch. Any thoughts?
I've ran budgie on arch, but I still felt like they had to do some work on it. It already looked nice, but it didn't feel finished. It's still in beta thought, so that's to be expected.
Why so close-minded about DEs/WMs? I'm running Arch on my Xeon too, but I'm using i3wm (great tiling-wm). Awesome is nice too, but I never got around configuring it. Although it requires less configuration at first than i3, if you want to configure anything you need to get a bit into lua - and I'm lazy.
Plasma 5 is out and really nice too - so why don't try that if you are not that minimalist?
