What cpu is actually compatible with the ASrock pro3 r2.0

Hi guys I want to ask what FX processors actually WORK on this thing. it is a really nice motherboard BUT it wont accept an FX6300 processor annoyingly so i had to take that back and go to my Athlon <:/ 

their site said it takes all am3 and am3+ chips but with the FX6300 it will not work for some reason.

so could anyone tell me one that will work for sure so I don't waist time or money again.

 

OR if anyone has an alternative that they would happily trade for artwork . any computer parts for artwork ( as long as they are kinda newISH ) and the parts are preferably amd.

update the bios to the latest version. then it should support the FX6300.

Are you sure that you have the R2.0 of this board? or do you only have the Arsock 970 pro3. cause these are two diffrent boards.

It should work fine. The 6300 that is. The board might have needed a BIOS update to know it.

Maybe you just got an old version the that board that came out just on ore before the 6300 line.

The Asrock 970 Pro3, needs a bios update to support the FX6300. its supported since bios version 1.50

You may need to flash the BIOS in order for the motherboard to recognize the newer FX CPUs.

also i never flashed or updated a bios i know how to build and maintain a pc fine but that's something i have never delved into

yes they are one in the same. it is odd as i have the most up to date bios for the board so its confusing. is flashing just replacing the bios with the same bios again ?

Mate I make 100 dollars a drawing XD on average i make 200 dollars for concept work

DON'T upgrade the bios, i have the same mobo and is crap, if you upgrade the bios you will have booting OS problems. Mine only booted after 3 resets. I downgraded and everything is fine. Also my 1600 Ram is not working, it works only at 1333.

 I bought it with @80$ and i regret it now. 

My only suggestion is to change the mobo ASAP. I will do it, i'll but some Gigabyte Sniper series.

Ye the board it self sucks, however, it should support a FX6300 with that bios version.
