What could cause this type of texture (and model?) corruption?

Every now and then I get this texture corruption in Quake Champions. I’ve had this since I got my 6900 XT (Asrock RX 6900 XT Phantom Gaming D 16G OC). It’s only occational, and I restart the game, and it’s fine again.

The temperatures I see are fine, but not everything has a temperature sensor on them, I assume.

Sometimes some enemy models also freak out and turn all spikey and weird (made me think of Langoliers). But this is like the texture correption, only every now and then, and I haven’t seen others have this issue. It’s been across two systems and several Windows installations, so changing drivers or clearing cache etc. is not a sollution, I would think.

I have seen these issues if vRAM or a a component on the GPU is failing. (Other related things could be storage, RAM or driver incompatibilities with this game - but normally storage or RAM issues would result in crashes, hangs, BSODs outside the game.)

Do these artifact only appear in this particular game?

Pull the heatsink and check that all of the memory chips are fully covered by thermal pads. Sometimes they get misaligned at the factory.

Looks like memory corruption to me. Other damage to the die usually results in much worse issues like games crashing or not even launching.

Vram or some sort of shader corruption, flush the shaders and try again
You don’t happen to have an Intel 13/14th gen cpu do you
