What cooler will fit my motherboard?

I just got a pc as a gift from my relative. It came with a stock cooler though, so I want to upgrade.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-78LMY-USB3

I was thinking of getting a Cooler Master hyper 212 evo.

I dont know what case I have except its a Thermaltake. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Pretty much any cooler will fit your mother board assuming that your case is deep enough to support the coolers height. Hyoer 212 is a great option, and I would also think about a Noctua NH-u12s. It's about the same size as the 212 evo, but will cool significantly better for about $20 more.

Should I buy separate thermal paste or use what comes with the cooler?

Noctua NH-L12 has a low profile and works pretty good:)
